A first U21Scotland cap for Greg Ross in match against Germany at Broadwood

Greg Ross added to his international honours playing the full 90 minutes, as the Scotland Under 21s went down 2-0 to Germany at Broadwood Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Germans took the lead mid way through the first half as a poor clearance by goalkeeper McNeil was pounced on by Ebert and his return pass was cleanly volleyed into the net by Aaron Hunt in 22 minutes.

Scotland livened up in the second half but found it hard to make an impact against a strong and fast German side. Ebert hit the bar with a shot, and the second goal came shortly afterwards in 76 minutes as Ebert's free kick found substitute Flessers unmarked at the back post for a simple goal.

Chances were few for the Scots, with Naismith working hard up front but always confronted with resolute defending.

SCOTLAND: Andrew McNeil (Jamie McDonald 46), Greg Ross, Lee Wallace, Marc Fitzpatrick, Scott Cuthbert (capt), Mark Reynolds, Michael McGlinchey (Darren Smith 46), David Robertson (Graham Dorrans 46), Steven Naismith, Rocco Quinn (Jamie Adams 69), Ryan Conroy (Andrew Considine 85) .

Attendance: 2,326.
